Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for recruitment of temporary Technical and Administrative posts at Directorate of Rice Research, Hyderabad as per details given below:

1. T6(Communication Specialist) Press & Editorial Staff -01(UR) Essential: Master's degree in Agriculture or any branch of science/social science relevant to agriculture or equivalent qualification from a recognized University with five years experience of science writing and science journalism in the concerned language as evidenced by published material
Desirable: Experience in a research organization, proficiency in computer operations, preparing and editing technical reports/documents and correspondence , project file management.

2. T3(Technical Assistant) Field/Farm Technician -01(UR) 03(OBC)
Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or any other branch of Science relevant to agriculture or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Desirable: Experience of assisting research in laboratory and field.

3. T3(Computer) (Laboratory Technician) -01(UR)
Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Computers or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Desirable: 1 – 3 years experience in statistical data analysis(preferably in agriculture) / computer programming, familiarity with statistical packages.

4. T3(Technical Assistant) Laboratory Technician -01(UR)
Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or any other branch of Science relevant to agriculture or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.

Desirable: Experience in Laboratory chemical analysis with knowledge on instrumentation.

5. T1(Field Technician) Field/Farm Technician -01(UR) 01(OBC)
Essential: Matriculation with at least one year certificate in Agriculture from a recognized institution
Desirable: Experience in field operations

6. Stenographer Gr.III -01(UR) 01(OBC) -12th Class pass or equivalent from a recognized Board or University

Professional efficiency The candidates will be given one dictation test in English or in Hindi at 80 w.p.m. for 10 minutes. The candidates who opt to take the test in English will be required to transcribe the matter in 50 minutes on computer and the candidates who opt to take the test in Hindi will be required to transcribe the matter in 65 minutes on computer.
Desirable: Familiarity in use of Computer, typing in Hindi also

Age Limit:

For the posts mentioned at Sl.No.1 the age should be between 18-35 years, for Sl.Nos.2 to 5 between 18-30 years and for Sl.No.6 the age should be between 18-27 years.
There will be no age limit for the employees of the ICAR for Sl.No.1 to 5 posts and for the post of Stenographer Gr.III (Sl.No.6) the upper age limit relaxable up to 45 years in case of serving regular employees of ICAR in the administrative category.
The above quoted upper age limit is relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC as permissible under the rules against reserved posts for respective category only (5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC).
Age relaxation to Ex-servicemen and PHC candidates shall be admissible as per rules.
The crucial date for determining the age limit & qualification in each case will be the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (other than Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep)

Pay Bands/Scales/Grade Pay:

For the posts mentioned at Sl.No.1, PB-3, Rs.15600-39100 + Rs.5400/-(GP)
For the post mentioned at Sl.No.2 to 4 , PB-1, Rs.5200-20200 +Rs.2800/-(GP)
For the posts mentioned at Sl.No.5, PB-1, Rs.5200-20200 + Rs.2000/-(GP)
For the post mentioned at Sl.No.6, PB-1, Rs.5200-20200 + Rs.2400/- (GP)

How to Apply


The application should be submitted to the Administrative Officer, Directorate of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500 030 within 30 days from the date of appearance of the Advt. in Employment News paper in the proforma appended strictly type-written accompanied by a latest pass-port size photograph duly attested by Gazetted Officer along with Examination fee (Non-refundable) of Rs.100/-(One Hundred only) for each post is to be sent in the form of Bank Draft drawn in favour of "ICAR-UNIT-RICE" payable at Hyderabad with the name of the candidate, Sl.No. and name of the post written on its backside. Candidates belonging to SC/ST & Physically Challenged candidates are not required to pay any fee. No fee exemption is, however, available to OBC candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.
